Piezometer

Piezometers are pressure-sensitive, submersible measurement sensors designed to detect pore water pressure and ground water levels in a variety of geotechnical applications. Because pore pressure has such significant effects on ground behaviour, it is essential to monitor building site pore pressure before, during, and after construction.

Inclinometer

Inclinometers measure underground lateral displacements within soil and rock. Adequate ground support is essential for almost any major construction, whether it be a dam, retaining wall, pit mine, or other load-bearing structure. Careful monitoring of ground stability is necessary both during construction and as an ongoing measure to ensure the safety and long-term stability of the structure.

Crack Meter

Crack Meters is primarily used during the construction of mass concrete structures such as dams, bridges, and retaining walls.

Extensometer

Extensometers are used to measure the displacement or general deformation of rock, soil, and concrete structures in a variety of geotechnical applications. Precise measurement of changes in distance between one or more anchors generates up-to-the-minute data concerning the distribution, magnitude, and rate of ground and structure deformation.

Tiltmeters

Tiltmeters are used to measure and monitor changes to the inclination and vertical rotation of structures. There are myriad external factors that can affect the tilt of a structure and compromise structural integrity, such as changes to the water level, ground heave due to frost or thaw, and nearby tunnelling or excavation. Any of these situations has the potential to compromise structural integrity and can affect the safety and efficiency of build projects or result in damage to existing structures.

Settlement Systems

Settlement systems are used to monitor changes in the ground surface and subsurface in terms of settlement and heave or to monitor the efficiency of preconsolidation of soft soil formations. Any major construction is vulnerable to shifts and changes in the earth below.

Readouts

RST Instruments offers many solutions for reading, displaying, and logging data from its instruments. In situations where automatic transmission of data to a central terminal is either undesirable or impossible, RST’s readout units allow you to collect data, view it on site, and later export that data to a host computer in a variety of formats.
